| This is hip hop, the way the music was originally meant to be: Challenging, envelope pushing and highly original. Curse ov Dialect aren't trying to be strange without intent, their whole focus is forcing the listener out of the box os preconceptions. Yes, they're a diverse group who aren't afraid to speak candidly about race, politics and religion. They're also not afraid to dress in their cultural attire onstage, further confusing the usual hip hop trends. Sometimes they rap in heavy Australian accents, other times move easily into other languages.
The music never gets too serious since there's always humor alongside anger and despair. The beats, world music with a psychedelic twist, though always grounded in Australia. In short, there's nothing like it. Highly Recommended: A - Whale Sound Dervish |
